What you do is: install the plugin, go in preferences/extensions, turn off vray and shut down Sketchup. I'm not sure this is useful in any way, but working with Vray 4 Skp I have become used to installing the V-ray toy plugin made by thom thom: I am trying to contact Vray for assistance because this is totally unacceptable but in the mean time does anyone have any ideas as to what I can do? My problem is that I need these programs for work, I am expected to get my renders done and it is extremely frustrating when it takes 30 min's to open one file. Sometimes there is a discrepancy between materials in SU and Vray and this normally makes my SU files to crash. I believe that the true issue lies when SU and Vray loads their materials while starting. I'm using the most recent Sketchup and Vray - so really a bit annoyed as I've spent a bit of money purchasing these two products - and now its costing me time and effort - which is a shame as I enjoy using both products and produce brilliant results. So now I can't even open the weeks work I've done - bugger. I'm currently modelling a large office interior and its been fully modelled and I've started to add Vray materials - most of them downloaded from Chaos and FlyingArchitect (all placed in the same folder on my desktop) - all been going well until I start to render - major crashing happens and then every time I reopen the model all goes well until Vray starts to reload the materials - BANG it crashes. Keep having serious major problems with my Sketchup and Vray models.
